Creativity and living your dreams are ongoing themes in Curt Rosengren's The Occupational Adventure Weblog. So it comes as no surprise that one of his most recent posts encourages readers to Teach your kids to dream:
"Do you have kids? Or nieces and nephews? Grandchildren maybe? Are you teaching them to dream? That could be one of the grandest - and longest lasting - gifts you could give them.
One of the biggest obstacles many of my clients run into in their quest for an inspired life is the seeds that were planted in their childhood about the need to be 'realistic' and practical.' Somewhere along the way, the ability to dream, and to truly see those dreams as potential reality, gets squashed."
Sound familiar? A number of creativity books, such as Marco Marsan's "Think Naked," encourage us to reconnect with our inner child, to approach life -- and its abundance of creative opportunities -- with fresh eyes. But Curt's thought-provoking post reminds us to pass this creative outlook on to our children. Great advice! |
